Private analysis by default

You can analyze an offer, compare a second contract, and generate a negotiation or clarification response without an account and without contributing the documents. Choosing not to share an anonymous summary does not reduce the analysis you receive.

Official market and economic context

When you request an analysis, the selected employment country and job title are sent to Worth Asking’s market endpoint so it can request available public labor-market and inflation context. The endpoint does not accept or store your document text, company, pay, work location, name, or contact information. Current U.S. occupation context uses Bureau of Labor Statistics data; country inflation context uses World Bank data. Source links and coverage limits appear with the results.

Privacy-safe launch analytics

Worth Asking counts a small set of product actions: page visit, upload started, analysis completed, anonymous-data opt-in, response copied, result shared and whether the analysis was useful. These metrics store only the date, action category, page path and sanitized campaign labels such as reddit or tiktok. A random tab-session identifier is converted into one-way event-specific deduplication hashes that expire after 30 days. There is no persistent analytics cookie, third-party analytics tracker or cross-site profile. The analytics tables are separate from offer contributions and do not store offer text, salary, employer, job title, name, contact details, IP address or browser user-agent.

Optional anonymous contribution

After analysis, you may choose to contribute a structured summary. Before anything is sent, the page shows the fields that will be included and asks for separate consent.

• Job title, industry, experience level, employment country, currency and approximate work location
• Base pay, pay period, bonus, PTO, work arrangement and benefit categories
• Negotiation target, contract-signal categories and eventual outcome
• Employer name only when you separately choose to include it

What we do not intentionally store

The contribution database does not store your name, home address, personal postal code, email, phone number, signature, uploaded file, complete document text, IP address or browser user-agent. For U.S. contributions, a work ZIP is reduced to its first three digits before storage; non-U.S. postal codes are not collected.

How anonymous data may be used

Contributed summaries may be combined to create pay benchmarks, negotiation statistics, labor-market trends and economic insights. Worth Asking may offer aggregated reports or licensed aggregate data, but it will not sell the original offer letter or a personal applicant profile.

The contribution database is private

There is currently no public database, search tool, statistics dashboard or public API. Contributors can retrieve only the offers linked to their own browser. The pooled records are available only to Worth Asking for private research and product development.

Multiple offers, outcomes and removal

A random device key is stored in a secure browser cookie so this device can manage multiple contributions without an account. Worth Asking stores only a one-way hash of that key. Each offer can be updated or removed separately, and removing an offer also removes its linked negotiation outcome.

Public reporting safeguards

Individual submissions are not intended to be displayed publicly. Future benchmarks should show sample size, date range and confidence, and employer-specific results should appear only after enough offers exist to reduce re-identification risk.
